Cyclone VG Wins First Week of EU Vainglory 8

The roster’s first streamed match under the CycloneGG banner was against Denial Esports in a best of three in the semifinals. CycloneGG’s first round match against G2 Esports was delayed and couldn’t be streamed.

Game 1:

CycloneGG composition: Radha on Kestrel, an archer hero that has stealth capabilities. PTLam on Phinn, an anchor wielding tank who can easily disrupt the enemy backline. WalDeMar on Joule, a mech-suited frontliner equipped with a leap and a long range ultimate.

Denial Esports composition: Bashn on Lance, a jungler with a unique polearm-shield arsenal. ArtemisGrace on Baron, a sniper using the power of a rocket launcher and a jetpack. ImTheDoom on Samuel, a dark mage with a lot of AoE control.

First blood: Double kill by Denial’s ImTheDoom 

Highlight play: CycloneGG’s WalDeMar gets a double kill after securing the Kraken.

Result: CycloneGG win, 15-19 in kills, 26,474-31,237 in gold. 

MVP: WalDeMar’s Joule, 13/8/1 KDA, 182 minion kills, and 13,311 gold.

 

Game 2:

CycloneGG composition: Radha on Samuel, a dark mage with a lot of AoE control. PTLam on Adagio, a support mage that can heal and buff his allies. WalDeMar on Joule, a mech-suited frontliner equipped with a leap and a long range ultimate.

Denial Esports composition: Bashn on Lance, a jungler with a unique polearm-shield arsenal. ArtemisGrace on Ringo, a sniper equipped with a pistol that has high attack speed. ImTheDoom on Ozo, a mobile assassin who jumps on the head of his enemies.

First blood: The teams trade kills after CycloneGG goes for Denial’s first turret.

Highlight play: CycloneGG steals the Kraken, gets the ace.

Result: CycloneGG win, 17-10 in kills, 30,526-25,936 in gold.

MVP: WalDeMar’s Joule, 9/4/7 KDA, 190 minion kills, and 12,635 gold.

 

Round Result: 2-0 CycloneGG

 

The week 1 finals of Spring Split 1 was between CycloneGG and Team Secret in a best of three.

Game 1:

CycloneGG composition: Radha on Kestrel, an archer hero that has stealth capabilities. PTLam on Lyra, a supportive battlemage. WalDeMar on Vox, a mobile sniper whose basic attacks bounce off enemies.

Team Secret composition: L3on on Krul, a warrior with high self-sustain. Justman00 on Adagio, a support mage that can heal and buff his allies. Mowglie on Rona, an assassin with multiple movement abilities.

First blood: A failed Team Secret gank turns into an Ace for CycloneGG.

Highlight play: Radha gets a triple kill after Team Secret dives deep into the backline.

Result: CycloneGG win, 16-5 in kills, 25,212-15,813 in gold.

MVP: Radha’s Kestrel, 7/0/7 KDA, 43 minion kills, and 7,372 gold.

 

Game 2:

CycloneGG composition: Radha on Reim, an old winter mage. PTLam on Lyra, a supportive battlemage. WalDeMar on Saw, a nearly immobile sniper that has one of the highest damage potentials.

Team Secret composition: L3on on Celeste, a fragile mage that uses the power of the stars to defeat her enemies. Justman00 on Ringo, a sniper equipped with a pistol that has high attack speed. Mowglie on Adagio, a support mage that can heal and buff his allies.

First blood: Team Secret get a pick on PTLam.

Highlight play: Team Secret picks off WalDeMar and secures the Kraken.

Result: Team Secret win, 14-2 in kills, 26,322-15,866 in gold. 

MVP: Justman00’s Ringo, 7/0/6 KDA, 173 minion kills, and 11,346 gold.

 

Game 3:

CycloneGG composition: Radha on Samuel, a dark mage with a lot of AoE control. PTLam on Ardan, a jungler that is good at soaking up damage. WalDeMar on Ringo a sniper equipped with a pistol that has high attack speed.

Team Secret composition: L3on on Reim, an old winter mage. Justman00 on Kestrel, an archer hero that has stealth capabilities. Mowglie on Glaive, a catlike axe-wielding jungler.

First blood: The teams exchange kills in the jungle. 

Highlight play: CycloneGG gets the ace to set up the final push for the win.

Result: CycloneGG win, 8-12 in kills, 25,122-27,437 in gold. 

MVP: WalDeMar’s Ringo, 5/7/2 KDA, 206 minion kills, and 11,942 gold.

 

Round Result: 2-1 CycloneGG
